As part of our ongoing commitment to privacy and transparency, we are updating the Box Privacy Notice effective October 5, 2026. The updates clarify how we describe our practices and reflect features you may choose to enable. No action is required on your part. This update does not modify your existing Agreement, Data Processing Addendum, or any other contractual terms you have with Box.
Here is a summary of our key updates:
- Personal information and regional disclosures. We have clarified the categories of personal information Box collects and processes when you use the Box Service and the related features you choose to enable, including disclosures specific to users in the European Union and the United Kingdom.
- Box AI. If your organization uses Box AI, the notice now provides additional detail on your responsibilities and related guidance when using Box AI, your use of AI agents, and customer enabled AI models.
- Contacting the Box privacy team. We have streamlined the Contact Us section and added a Box Form you can use to submit privacy questions and data subject rights requests.
You may review the updated Privacy Notice here. You may also wish to share this update with users in your organizations. Continued use the Box Services on October 5, 2026 or after is subject to the updated notice.
